MTN says exec committee member resigns

JOHANNESBURG – Mobile phone company MTN today said on Wednesday its vice president of digital services, data analytics and business development Stephen van Coller had resigned with effect from August 31 to take up a group CEO position at another JSE listed company.

It said his successor would be announced in due course.

Van Coller joined MTN in October 2016 and the company and had played an instrumental role in designing the company’s new BRIGHT strategy and ensuring its focus on building out new digital services areas, the firm said.

“Under Stephen’s leadership the mobile financial services customer base more than doubled to 25 million and significant progress has been made across the group in building big data analytics and rich media services across music, video and gaming,” it added.
