Multiple failure at Hendrina plant won’t trigger blackouts – Eskom

South Africa‘s ailing state power firm Eskom said its 2,000 megawatt Hendrina Power Station had suffered a “multi unit trip” on Monday, but that the failure would not lead to the nationwide electricity cuts it implemented last week.

“This trip, while unfortunate, does not impact our status at this point, as we have sufficient emergency reserves. We can confirm that no load shedding is expected today,” the utility said on its twitter page.
