“If nothing positive come out of this peaceful march tomorrow Num will mobilise its members in the whole province of Mpumalanga to embark on a full-blown strike,” Num Highveld Regional Secretary Tshilidzi Mathavha said in an emailed statement Thursday. “The union is perturbed by how Glencore treats Num members and workers in general,” he said.

Among the issues that the union is protesting are the company’s housing policy and dismissal of workers, it said.
