Petrol price to increase by 22 cents

The fuel price adjustments for this month will come into effect from midnight.

The price of petrol will increase by 22 cents a litre. The diesel price however has gone down by between 15 and 16 cents a litre.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin has decreased by over 17 cents a litre.

However, the maximum retail price for LPGAS has also increased by R1, 02 per kilogram.

According to the Energy Department, economic factors impacting the petrol price increase include the average international product prices for petrol having increased in November, while that of diesel and illuminating have paraffin decreased.

Furthermore, the rand appreciated against the US dollar on average during November.
