Retail sales down 7.5% year on year in June

South African retail sales fell 7.5% year on year in June following a revised 11.9% contraction in May, Statistics South Africa said on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis sales were up 6.4% compared to 68.7% monthly increase in May, and in the three months to the end of June sales shrank 22.8% compared with the same period last year, the statistics body said.
