SA’s Q3 GDP grows 1.6% q/q – stats agency

South Africa’s economy grew 1.6% in the third quarter in quarter-on-quarter, seasonally-adjusted and non-annualised terms, from a contraction of 0.7% in the second quarter, the statistics agency said on Tuesday.

Gross domestic product (GDP) grew 4.1% year on year unadjusted in the third quarter, Statistics South Africa said.

Economists had predicted 0.6% quarter-on-quarter growth and 2.8% year-on-year growth.
