South Africa trade surplus widens to R28.35bn in May

South Africa recorded a trade surplus of R28.35 billion in May, up from a revised surplus of R16.01 billion in April, data from the revenue service showed on Thursday.

Exports rose 17.8% month on month to R179.46 billion, while imports were up 10.9% at R151.11 billion, the South African Revenue Service said.
