South Africa’s retail sales up 0.5% y/y in April

South African retail sales rose 0.5% year-on-year in April after increasing by a revised 4.6% in March, the statistics office said on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis, sales fell 1.2%. Sales rose 3.1% in the three months to the end of April compared with the same period last year, Statistics South Africa said.
