Trade surplus narrows to $2.24bn in July

South Africa’s trade balance recorded a surplus of R37.42 billion ($2.24 billion) in July from a revised surplus of R45.73 billion in June, data from the revenue service showed on Monday.

Exports rose 6.1% on a month-on-month basis to R122.49 billion, while imports were up 22.1% to R85.07 billion, the South African Revenue Service said.
