Devmark Property Group CEO named 2018 Top CEO of the Year

Only a few members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. The special honourees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, longevity in the field, other affiliations and contributions to their communities.

Ehlers earned his MBA from Stellenbosch University after completing his BSoc Sc degree. According to the president of IAOTP, Stephanie Cirami, “Choosing Ehlers for this award was an easy decision for our panel to make. He is a brilliant and talented leader in property development and financial management. He was exactly what we were looking for and we know we will be seeing more outstanding things from this man. We also hope to spend time with him at our gala this year at the Plaza Hotel in NYC.”

Says Ehlers: “I’m humbled, honoured and thrilled to have been selected for this prestigious award and to join past recipients whom I’ve long admired and respected. I’d like to thank the IAOTP for choosing me and also salute all my fellow nominees. They have all made incredible contributions in their respective fields. And of course my family, especially my wife and kids, for always supporting me.”

Key responsibilities

Ehlers’s key responsibilities at Devmark Property Group include business strategy and implementation, marketing, project development, financial management, legal matters, property management and overseeing financial execution.

Looking back, Ehlers attributes his success to his perseverance, mentors along the way, attention to detail and understanding of the property market in South Africa and internationally. “I’ve been blessed in that I love what I do and feel that this is just the beginning. I hope to be involved in many world-class developments in the future and to continue working as an entrepreneur for many years to come. Furthermore, I’d like to make a difference in people’s lives anyway that I can.”
