IREM swears in Africa’s first internationally certified CPMs

The Institute of Real Estate Managers (IREM) recently hosted a swearing-in ceremony of the first cohort of nine internationally certified commercial property managers (CPMs) in Africa.

The IREM Certified Property Manager (CPM) certification was launched in August 2017, following a partnership among the South African Institute of Black Property Practitioners (SAIBPP), Wits University and commercial retail property investment fund Pareto Ltd.

IREM is an international association of professional property managers responsible for determining global best practice, promoting superior management and maximising value of real estate investments through training, professional development and certification. Now in its 81st year of existence, IREM has an international membership of 20,000 individuals, 570 corporate members and 14 international chapters.

Said SAIBPP CEO Vuyiswa Mutshekwane, “IREM is the global leader in commercial property certification and we are honoured to be partnered with this organisation locally to professionalise the industry and drive sustainable transformation.”
