Load shedding is back
Eskom will implement load shedding for the first time since 9 December 2018, the electricity utility said on Sunday.
It will implement stage-two rotational load shedding from 1pm on Sunday, and this is likely to continue until 10pm, it said in a statement.
Blaming a “shortage of capacity”, Eskom said there is “also a need to replenish and preserve emergency water and diesel resources to limit load shedding possibility or the magnitude thereof in the following week”.
Stage-two rolling blackouts require 2GW to be removed from the grid on a rotational basis nationally. — (c) 2019 NewsCentral Media
