TechCentral’s top 5 podcasts in June

TechCentral’s interview with newly appointed BCX CEO Jonas Bogoshi was the publication’s most popular podcast in June 2018, in what was another record-breaking month for the platform.

The Bogoshi interview, recorded via Skype, was listened to thousands of times. In the podcast, he talked about his career in the IT industry as well as his plans for BCX.

The second most listened-to podcast on TechCentral in June was a press conference held by Liberty Group CEO David Munro in the wake of the breach of an e-mail repository at the financial services provider, with the hackers demanding payment — reportedly running into millions of rand — not to publish confidential client information on the Internet. Liberty refused to comply with the demand.

Rounding of the top five were an interview with Community Investment Ventures Holdings chairman Pieter Uys on that company’s investment into fibre-to-the-home provider Vumatel; a discussion with Willem Roos, the CEO of wireless broadband provider Rain on the launch of its mobile data offerings; and a wide-ranging interview with Len de Villiers, the former chief information officer of Telkom, on what it takes to be a CIO in South Africa.

Other popular podcasts this month included a discussion on Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference with local Apple aficionado and radio personality Mark Pilgrim, and an interview with Schalk Nolte, CEO of information security specialist Entersekt.
