JOHANNESBURG – President Cyril Ramaphosa, along with his Chinese counterpart, President Xi Jinping attended the BRICS Summit that began on Wednesday in Sandton at the convention center. 

The summit is set to take place in Johannesburg for three days and in the highlight session of the day, the presidential address saw the two presidents express their willingness for their governments to cooperate with business stakeholders to improve the economies of their countries as well as the other BRICS nations. 
At the Summit, the two heads of states were invited to be apart of the summit by Minister of Trade and Industry, Rob Davies. 
Ahead of their talks, the minister gave the presidents a rundown of proceedings of the day at the BRICS Summit. 
President Cyril Ramaphosa welcomes the dignitaries at the summit and said that one of the most important achievements of BRICS was the established of the Development Bank, which he said filled a critical gap in funding. 
“There is great potential for investment in Africa. Growth will be supported by this increasing forum. Africa’s working age population is expected to double to 1bn in the next 25 years,” Ramaphosa added.
