The ANC heavyweight met the integratory commission on the weekend, following a lengthy internal debate in the ruling party on whether he should stay in his powerful position.

Magashule refused to leave, despite the ANC’s resolution that any member who has been formally charged with a crime should step aside.

According to News24, a three-page report was sent by the commission to the ANC’s national executive committee, saying this resolution must be implemented “without fear or favour.”

This is a developing story.
