ANC threatens to further discipline suspended Magashule

South Africa’s governing African National Congress (ANC) will further discipline its suspended Secretary General Ace Magashule if he does not apologise for a letter he wrote last week resisting his suspension, ANC leader Cyril Ramaphosa said on Monday.

The ANC suspended Magashule, one of Ramaphosa’s main party rivals, last week in line with tougher rules for members charged with corruption and other serious crimes. Magashule tried to stay in his position in charge of the day-to-day running of the party and retaliate by suspending Ramaphosa, but he failed.
