Consumer inflation rises to 5.2% year/year in November

South Africa’s headline consumer inflation quickened slightly to 5.2% year-on-year in November, data from Statistics South Africa showed on Wednesday.

On a month-on-month basis, prices rose 0.2% in November from 0.5% in the previous month.

Core inflation, which excludes the prices of food, non-alcoholic beverages, petrol and energy, was at 4.4% year-on-year in November from 4.2% in October.

On a month-on-month basis core inflation quickened to 0.2% from 0.1% in October.
