Eskom moves SA to Stage 6

Stage 6 load shedding will be implemented from noon on Wednesday until further notice, according to a statement issued by Eskom.

It says this is due to a high number of breakdowns since midnight, alongside the requirement to strictly preserve the remaining emergency generation reserves.

Eskom says it will issue a full statement in due course.
