Job description


Independent, online financial media group Moneyweb is expanding its team and looking for an editorial production assistant to join our dynamic environment.

Day-to-day duties include:

  • Monitoring the wire services for content

  • Writing enticing blurbs and headlines that are factually correct

  • Uploading and updating content on the online platform

  • Interacting on the company’s social media profiles

  • Proofreading and copy editing articles as well as marketing-related material

  • Working closely with the news editor

  • Writing ad hoc news stories
  • Creating infographics

Please note the position is not radio-related.

Moneyweb is a financial media group listed on the JSE. We produce independent, high quality investment, company and personal finance articles and information on various platforms, including the internet, radio, print, newsletters and through our various events.

Requirements

Our candidate must have an excellent command of the English language, pay exceptional attention to detail and have worked as a journalist.

Advantageous

Having a journalism/business qualification, financial media experience and proof reading/ copy editing experience would be an added advantage.

The ideal candidate would be creative, hard working, a fast learner, a team player yet able to work independently, be meticulous and efficient, willing to work long hours, eager to learn and be adaptable, be technologically-savvy, able to stick to tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
