Transnet’s Group Chief Executive and Chief Financial Officer resign

Transnet’s Group Chief Executive Portia Derby and Group and Chief Financial Officer Nonkululeko Dlamini have resigned.

In a statement the company says the board has appointed Michelle Phillips as acting Group Chief Executive and Hlengiwe Makhathini as interim Group Financial Officer.

“Ms Dlamini, who joined Transnet in July 2020, leaves on 29 September 2023, after serving her notice from 1 September 2023. Ms Derby will leave Transnet at the end of October 2023. She was appointed to the role in February 2020,”  the statement reads.

The board has wished the two executives well.
