Huawei sued for allegedly violating SA employment equity rules

The labour department said on Friday that it has filed court papers against the South African unit of telecommunications equipment company Huawei Technologies for allegedly violating employment rules of the country.

The department said in a statement that the Chinese company employed approximately 90% foreign nationals against 40% as permitted by regulations.
